SUCCESS OR FAILURE IN MY SEARCH FOR CHANGE?

I would like to begin my final blog of the "Drew Year" by saying a BIG THANK YOU to all of the 3663 (does this figure mean a reversal of fortune for the hungry? i hope so) "friend's" that have taken the time to read the "CASH" topic that i put forward in Drews philanthropy section. I'm absolutely overwhelmed by the response. I thought maybe 100 would read it and a few take up the challenge. Seeing the above gives hope that more than few have done so. Okay, it's time to count up the small change that you have small change that you have saved and put it into whatevever coin bags (U/K) coin wraps in the U.S.A/ Canada so that you can take it to your local bank and donate it to the WFP before Drews Birthday. I am hopeful that i have reached my personal target, of $50 - $100, (£30 - £60) i must say without really trying to hard. As i have not yet counted my change i will put the figure at the end of the blog. I know PaulAndrew, (my co conspirator in the original idea) and at least two other's have joined in. I hope that there are a few more of you out there who think, yes this is an easy way to Donate to theWFP? It has been a tough year trying to keep the blog up to date, (as you can see by the summer month's) keeping people interested with a hint or two of humour thrown in? Do i try to repeat this from the 23rd February 2010. I do not really know? My voluntary hours at the sports club has increased by three time's from last March - August from 10hour's - 32hours per week. It is hard work some days but it keeps my body in shape, which at the time of writing this blog it what i would call " slightly pear shaped". I will carry on saving my loose change that is for sure. "O MY GOODNESS" forget the $50 (£30) low end. The bar has been raised to $100 (£60) mimimum for Drews next Birthday in 2011. I may regret this decision, as I've said i did not really push myself so this figure is reachable. My grand total from the day after Drews last Birthday is, ................................................................................................................................................................... ...............................http.www.smallchangeforabigchange.blogspot.com .............................................................................

I can barely wrap my arms around your Candy Jar

Do you come from a country where it is okay to put money into my red cup?

a Staggering $136.74 or £87.00. SUCCESS I THINK, now that has made me smile today, YAY!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO Miss Drew Barrymore

I have to keep going now, as i have £3.11 or $4.78 left in various denomination's of small change.

What started out as a VERY SIMPLE IDEA, consider what we could ACHIEVE together.
If all the Member's (there are 4451 registered to date) joined in.
That would be really amazing don't you think?

WOULD THIS MAKE YOU THINK "YES THIS HIS EASY ENOUGH TO ACHIEVE"?

If every member saved $25 (£16 in the U/K) Over The Next 12 Month's (350 day's from the 23rd. February) in small change,
(in simple terms, 7.15 cent's a day (4.56p in U/K) to donate to the WFP for Drews next Birthday.
I do not work for any organisation I'm just an ordinary guy who likes Drew movie's, her humility towards others & the inspirational qualities. As you can see by these blog's that i have written, they are not earth shattering. "BIG A is writing a Blog", my friend's would laugh at you. (give me a break he is not that smart lol) I think, NO I KNOW that the target below is so stupidly easy to reach. All we have to do is to pull in the same direction.
No Sweat!

$111,275.000 (£71,056.000 in the U/K), exchange rate = $1.566 US to £1 U/K

That would amount to an UNBELEIVABLE Donation
I am dreaming of course. What if it was in REALITY, TRUE? WOW!!

To end, to any member taking part in the ( $25, £16 in the UK) challenge will he SAVE CHILDREN'S LIVE'S which is the whole point of this very simplistic idea.

The Best Gift You Can Give This Christmas is The Gift of LIFE

125x125_fill_the_cup.jpg

"PRINCESS DREW of GREY GARDENS" NEEDS YOUR HELP. CHANGE IS ALL THAT IS NEEDED.

Hello folks, it has been a long time since my last blog i know as someone has made this point already. I have been very, very busy du
ring the summer month's.I have also had some personal family stuff to deal with also.
As the title suggests, it is that time of year now when people go out to buy gifts & Christmas card's for family & friends. It is called "Thinking of Other's" I'm no different in that respect. I guess that I'm on of the few that actually dislike Christmas. (S.A.D) To me it stands for "Legal Money Laundering" of ordinary people because little Tommy WANTS the latest this, little Amy WANTS the latest that. I needed that out of my system ha- ha!
So to that end, from now until sayearly February '10 (15 day's before Drew's birthday) when you go, not only Christmas shopping, on your return home why not save all those small annoying coins that are of no use to you. Just save them in some preferably large container ha-ha. Early February count how much that you have saved. Place them into coin bags (U/K) (coin rolls in the U/S in other part's of the world I'm sorry but I have no idea what they are called). You may be pleasantly surprised at how much that you have saved? 1,2,3 children's LIVES for a month or two? Go to the bank and deposit it in your account , then donate the appropiate a
mount to the WPF, easy peasy. Now is that not more fulfilling that receiving socks or some other gift that you do not need, yet still insincerely say "OH THANK YOU! YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE BOTHERED BUYING A GIFT FOR ME". It was not my intention to basically repeat my first blog, i guess that i needed to remind you, (if any one out there actually reads this blog?) that it is not that hard to at least TRY to HELP save the LIVES of others. My Candy Jar is pretty heavy, (I have weighed it, it's 13 pounds give or take a few ounce's) as you can see. Remember also to check your Car Armchairs, Sofa's Homes for the small change that can make a big change to a starving child. I will take this opportunity to wish all of my 2 reader's lol a very MERRY CHRISTMAS, THE BEST OF HEALTH & HAPPINESS FOR THE NEW YEAR. When you are sitting down to your Christmas Dinner eat only what you need.
Thank You for taking the time to read my blog. I will endeavour to write another update soon. Stay Healthy ---- Big Al

Small Change for a Big Change

             30th. May 2009

Hello folks, yet again SMALL CHANGE is needed for this next Blog. What I would like you to all do is to Humour me a little. The reason for this will become clear very soon. (well I hope so) We have all seen the movie "The Wedding Singer" if you have not then you need to get hold of a copy to participate in this piece of, of, well a master at work ha-ha. If you remember the soundtrack there is a song titled "Somebody Kill Me" which Robbie sings for Julia. Robbie had been listening to The Cure a lot. After this rendition I need the cure lol. The scansion, great word (thanks to Alex & Sophie) may not be 100%, who cares I'm no Lemon/MaCarthy ha-ha, so here is my version of "Somebody Kill Me". It may be advantageous to be Tone Deaf in the musical department like myself, TJ, ISSY and of course our Drew (I don't think so) I would not inflict such pain on anyone.(I have just whatched a clip from "Hangover", i maybe on a par with Mike Tyson?) The way to go I think is to hum the tune until it is embedded in your brains then talk these new lyrics a few time's before singing them
Title------ Fill The Cup You can help save children with Drew Let's all do as much as we can do Food and Water is all they need to live
Can you find a Penny a Dime Something to give Put it all into a jar
It's not some kind of game
Everyone deserves to live Inside we're all the same
verse 2
I hope one day that all the kids will eat
I think about them all the time, don't admit defeat If we do what we can health will be restored Oh somebody fill the cup Somebody fill the cup They have one chance Money Money Please Help them, or sure they'll die
Put a smile on their faaaccee.

small change for a big change

http.www.smallchangeforabigchange.blogspot.com

Hello everyone. I do not know if I'm reaching the audience that I would like to out there. You may not know, but this is a whole new area for me.I think that I have the right settings to communicate to the world, Im not that sure? A few people have veiwed my first "blog" (England & USA) they have given me positive encouragement to carry on, soI will Thank You. It may not be the best blog ever, the point is that CHANGE can save lives however little.

Back to the reason for the blog. I have photos of my "Candy Jar" slowly filling up when I can sort the problem out with my Digital camera. (I may start to use film again, ha-ha) I have had days where no change has entered the jar, others when it was 50p($1) - £1.50($2.35). I hope I have to go to the bank soon, as I said before @ 1/2 full it is heavey for a whimp like myself ha-ha. I willl update ASAP.                    Stay Healthy, big

Who has To Be Millionaire (To Help)

This is my empty candy jar on the 23rd. February'09 the day after Drew Barrymores birthday. Looks pretty sad dont you think? Well let's see if I could CHANGE that by feeding it.
Do you know that it only takes 25cent's,15p a day to feed a child in Kenya for that day?

It works out to something like £6, $10 a month

$50, £30 a year to feed that same child for a year. A YEAR. I couldn't play a round of golf with a meal & a drink for much less. My jeans alone cost me £40, $54 a pair. I could go on but it then becomes boring. When you break thing's down it gives you a different prospective on life. Well it has on me.

At the bottom right is my candy jar 5th. March. It does not look too much, I would say, $4, £3 or a bit less.(Paul Andrew suggested saving 20p coins 35 cents. I hope you are ok with me giving your name Paul? "another fine mess iv'e got you into"ha-ha) This is only small change that is of no use to me, but would save anyways to buy a treat for myself, so I will put it to good use before Drews next birthday. (unless I fill it 1/2 to 3/4 full by say October. It will be heavy, I know that from past experience)

Stay Healthy, big al

Small Change for a Big Change

http.www.smallchangeforabigchange.blogspot.com

Hello, this is my FIRST EVER blog. Please feel free to comment on it.
People may think "I can't do anything to help". Please read this & change your minds. It is so easy to help.
1/ You go for a day shopping, ice cream etc.
2/ You get home & empty your pockets & find that you have 50p ($1) in small change
3/I throw it into a candy jar After 3 month's you will be surprised @ how much you have saved £10 maybe
($15)
4/I go to the bank and deposit into my account(you may need it to help pay a bill that's OK. Just start again)
5/I will be disappointed if I do not save £50 (approx.$75) to Donate to the WFP of which actress Drew Barrymore is an Ambassador ( just before her next birthday Feb. 2010). This is so simple, all you need is a empty (large lol) container, very little if any effort. Visit http:/www.drewbarrymore.com for more info. Great site & very Friendly. I will update you soon. Stay healthy, big a
